Part of what people can do is pick politicians who at least promise they'll hold these corporations accountable.

Yeah, but they could have just as easily said"because of increasing pressures" or even postponed without mentioning anything. Selecting a side of this fence means probably devoting some investors, board members, partners and clients. Consumers watch EA for some of the dumb shit they do with games that they develop and release, but they do not see what they do for triggers such as equality and workplace diversity (they have actually been awarded in multiple years). They're actually super innovative internally and Madden 21 coins should be commended on that. It is simple to be cynical about this kind of thing, but they may just have easily prevented making an announcement. Yo, thanks for sharing this information. That is amazing on EA's part. Regardless of how folks feel about their matches we should commend them for their innovative actions. I'm surprised that I am just NOW hearing relating to this. I truly wish the gaming community would step up and start caring far more about stuff like this.

Same would happen if it was Epic or Activision. In case CDPR, Valve or some other beloved company did exactly the same, remarks would be wholly different. Edit: Sony did the same and the overall reception on those comments are largely positive. Stay fresh, Reddit. I really don't think so. If their primary customer base is African American is does not make sense to market to them right now. As they will not be spending at this time, as games isn't on there minds right now. Not about respect imo. More or less they're not moving to the stores right now to make purchases. Now using advertising they can use this as a show of solidarity with this market. A wonderful gesture, but are not these the same people who censored Colin Kaepernick's name from a song in one of the previous Madden games?

I will preface this by saying I don't think that it's a terrible thing for them to bring awareness to the situation. It is significant that it can't just be ignored by taking a look from it. That said, I do possess a certain amount of distrust towards multi-billion buck multinational corporations paying lip service to significant social issues. They're in the best possible position to do more than just put out a press release or public statement. Obviously, as a philosophical business they are under no obligation to do so, and it rings hollow when they try to stand in solidarity with all the common people. Currently there are businesses out there that do things and this is the opportunity to emphasize those efforts; to demonstrate that they're more than just words.

I would normally agree in the event of paying lip service to social issues without also putting cash and support to advocate for change or applying it to the organization and their work at the very least. That said police brutality is not just something that a company like EA throwing cash at the issue does much towards fixing. At best they place money towards the attorneys and groups that struggle to see justice after the truth or lobby to get laws changed that in the present government will not. It has systemic issues within police of not reporting their own and holding them accountable instead staying silent and with the authorities unions that allow it all to happen or in a sense even encourage it from the repercussions being a slap on the wrist followed by being hired at a different precinct showing them there's no consequences. Before even getting to laws and rulings like qualified immunity which shield abusive cops and allow them to abuse their power . The majority of that EA and many capitalist businesses aren't able to do all that much about making it unjust to say they are in the best possible position to do more.

The ones at the best possible place to do more are the supposed good cops by no longer remaining quiet and enabling bad cops to get away with their misuse of power or voting for superior direction for their unions which will not enable the behavior. However, of course it is just words. Because following decades of cheap Madden nfl 21 coins corporations doing things for the wrong reason, people are very cynical. Even if all corporations stopped doing things wrong, it'll take a long, long time for that image of corporate America to lose its tarnish. Part of what people can do is pick politicians who at least promise they'll hold these corporations accountable. It probably won't happen alone. This could be a lot easier if a person like that could run for office .
